Genetic Map of Great Britain
#1
The Royal Society have published a genetic map of Great Britain using samples obtained from the Wellcome Trust's current People of the British Isles Project.

Unlike yDNA or mtDNA studies which only look at paternal or materal lineages, this compares a large number, 500,000, of genes from each person. The regional variation between the results is highly interesting. They will do the same for yDNA and mtDNA shortly.

You can see the map here

More details about the novel surname sampling methods and current newsletter is available at the People of the British Isles Project.
