Today, while purchasing some more 1/8 inch baltic birch plywood for another scutum, I discovered that the local hardwood dealer also sells Milk Paint. The closest red for a scutum that I see is "Salem Red". Matt Amt on his legio XX site says to use "barn red", but from the sample this color appears very brown to me.
