They lost most, but I believe there's enough evidence to suggest that some bits remained.<br>

Of course, some bits, such as Romulus and Remus, appear to have been appropriated from Greek or Asian mythology and some bits, such as the story that Porsenna failed to capture Rome, are, if independent Greek chroniclers are to be believed, bare-faced lies.<br>

However, I was wondering if archaeology had happened to uncover anything.<br>
<br>
Alternatively, does anybody when the hilltop communities formed one united settlement? <p></p><i></i>
