Only problem I can see stock too heavy 8mm no more than 5mm thick you will be surprised at how thin some swords are. On the grind a 9" grinder brave but too heavy hence he looks like it took him hours to do. The right thickness 4" grinder I could possibly do this in 2-3 hours ready for surface finishing with spring steel. Also you need a system to take down the blade in stages, if you want a flat profile. Great to see him do this though.
The scabbard he did it a lot harder way, the scabbard too thick due to stock and iron fittings too, he should have used bronze or at least brass, but I will again credit him for doing it, it just depends on what you want at the end a sword that looks Roman, or something to use if you reanact seriously.
