Well, show must go on!! Big Grin

I have yet cut the blade, and the new blade is:

It's very light now, and with a blade lenght of 42 cm.

I have carved the guard from the original one, and the pommel is from an old pompei from deepeeka. The carving is done with a dremel, files and sandpaper.

I have carved a recess for the guard plate:

And then i have put a brass plate, with a dotted decoration (in the picture lacks the hollow for the blade)

Next step is to put all the pieces in his place, and add a terminal.

The terminal is made wit a lathe, from the original nut from deepeeka. I have try to imitate something like the Rheingonheim sword terminal.

Here, in its place, over a brass disc.

And now, we have to peen the blade extension, to form a "mushrom2 over the terminal:

And this is the sword, with the yet know scabbard:

Thanks all, folks!

Hispano, i'm working in a new sword. It's a Pompei-Mainz transition called Porto Novo type.

More interesting should be if you will post some pictures of the roman helmet you are working in.

A helmet that will be for a man called... Avitianus!!!

Your helmet is on the way. I show you in advance these 2 pictures with the first stage of the work and in the next days I will upload more pictures as I finish the different parts.
