it come from a field near bologna(Bononia)very near the via flaminia militaris.

e' quello che pensavo anche io,in effetti la forma e il peso non sono affatto riconducibili a lance o punte romane.
Byron,in my opinion the head of this repert is too large for be romans.Could be a "iagula"but is too big and long....

Buongiorno a tutti,
opterei anch'io per medievale; la morfologia delle punte di lancia romane (e con 1,7 kg di peso l'ipotesi del giavellotto credo sia da escludere) come avete già detto è generalmente più affusolata e allungata.
Altra cosa che mi colpisce è l'innesto a cannone a profilo quadrangolare (se la foto non mi inganna), piuttosto raro nelle punte romane.
Visto dimensioni e peso non escluderei l'ipotesi che si possa trattare di un puntale di qualcosa (bandiera, stendardo, ecc...).

It looks like your average Leaf-bladed spear head to me, could be Germanic or celtic. Bologna is in France or Germany I think, maybe Italy, so I'm not sure on that.

In effect is very strange the quadrangolar section of the basis and is strange too that the point is totally plane...there is bot romboidal section like normal spearheads...........Maeby some head of stendards like Ligus immagine?
