Robert i use a particular enamel that is specific for the material like metals,it is a "cold enalmel"(sorry for my horrible english) and became strong after two day...after is impossible to destroy on the plate.

Far too many of the uncommon plain sheaths are seen in re-enactment (cost being the perfectly justifiable reason of course) so it is very nice to see a good reconstruction of a particularly nice one to remind people that not all (or even the majority of) dagger sheaths were plain.
Have you thought about decorating the front grip plate with silver as well?
