Well, at this moment RAT has 4499 members. So if we all pay together less than 1 USD we can buy this lot and get it destroyed instead of having them floot the market.

hmmm if you have a mailing address I'll mail in five dollars just because I somehow doubt we'll get all nearly five thousand to do this...If we can get lets say....500 to do this, it's worth it!

When I was contemplating constructing my helm, I was looking at a few that came up for auction on ebay and were going quite cheap. On close examination, they were junk, pure and simple. You could see the abundance of rust and really poor "craftsmanship" in each of them. My guess is that they are stuck with with tons of them, probably made in other than India, and are having to dump them. Speaking of dumping, I agree they would "floot" the market!
I'm willing to help keep them off the market, just let me know.

You are right Richard, if they are able to get what they are asking for these lots. On the other hand, they are spitting in the wind at the price they are asking for bulk lots and I seriously doubt if they will get any takers.

I sent them this message:
"There is a group of us that are willing to pay you to destroy these helmets and to quit making them. Not a joke. We are serious. You can make historically correct helmets that will sell well for the same effort and investment!"

Good job John. We could even use a few of them to test our individual weapons. I think my new gladius could slice through one and it's not even tempered yet!

So why can't they make a Gallic A, for example, for that price? It's a much simpler helmet in almost all respects.

The trooper helmet would qualify as the most despised helmet in the world were it not for Nazi SS marked German helmets. Certainly it is the most hated fantasy helmet. (I would have said reproduction but it doesn't even rise to the level of being a poor reproduction.
