It is always worth spending a while prodding around in Academia.edu as there are some wonderful things to find there (also some terrors: two papers on a legionary fortress I had never seen before!). For those who do not know them, here are a couple of papers from Salvatore Ortisi about 1st-century AD swords (which you can download or read online):
Ortisi, S. 2006: 'Gladii aus Pompeji, Herculaneum und Stabia', Germania 84, 369–85
Ortisi, S. 2009: 'Vaginae catellis, baltea lamnis crepitent... Ein neues Zierelement am frühkaiserzeitlichen Schwertgehänge', Arch. Korrbl. 39, 539–45
If you have never heard of Academia.edu, it's like LinkedIn but with a purpose ;-)
