How did you go about putting in the silver inlay? Also what are the organic layers made from? It looks like bone for the inner grip but I can't tell how you've done the inner component of the pommel expansion. Is it metal folded down from the top or a totally different core material surmounting a short frame tang?
I would certainly like to see a 'how to' thread on how you made it.
Again - well done indeed!

For the decoration of the handle it is "ageminatura" one of the most difficult kind of decoration of the metal.an ancient tecnic that is possible to learn but that is really difficult because formexample in Italy there are only some very rare possibility to learn this ancient tecnic.the organic part is bone, normal bovine bone that after you made very thin.formthe pommel i look at the repert and infortunatly I can see only the pictures.there is a sheet of metal that cover the bone.I hope that in my horrible english I could explaine good.
I guessed that the sides of the pommel expansion were of metal folded down from the top plate. Is the bone element of the pommel expansion solid or is it two plates sandwiching the pommel expansion of the tang?
I don't know the word 'ageminatura' but I am guessing it means 'silver inlay' or something similar. Is this right?
Is it the method I have seen Erik Koenig using, where he chisels out the trenches and then hammers silver wire into them, or is it a different technique?

The bone in the top is massive and the external perimeter is coveder whit metal.the two rivets on the top colse the bone whit the handle.you hundestand well what konig do is ageminatura and it is a long and difficult work....long and really difficult.
