Never mind the kids - I want some.
Seems crazy that it takes 2 years for them to get to England, but half that to go all of the way to America. Mind you can understand the year to America - after all, they only have little legs. Perhaps they're not vey good sailors (or swimmers). I wonder if you can mail order them direct from the German company Hilary

Quote:Never mind the kids - I want some. Hello Hilary (and other people who want this Roman playmobil, but can't find them nearby). If you can't buy these items directly from Playmobil, I'm willing to buy them here (I've seen them in a local toy store) and sell them to you (for just the store prize and the shipment costs, I don't want to make profit by helping people  ). Just send me a private mail if you need my help! Greetings, Joe

Quote:anybody notice that you apparently cannot get the Playmobil Romans in the UK? Will we have to wait another 43 years for an invasion? Maybe the poor guys you liberated a few decades ago could do something back for you? I've found them in Belgium in a local toy store and I'm willing to buy them and send them to you. Unless you realy want to waith untill the next German (or Roman?) invasion

As to the full playmobil legion, I believe it's currently in the Limesmuseum in Aalen (seems to have been there for the Roman Days event).

Word From Playmobil Customer Service -- Romans will be released in the US this August.
No word on price point or what stores will carry them, however most of the big retailers have Playmobil (as well as many smaller specialty stores) so it would seem a safe bet that the Romans will be easy to find this fall. Now, about that idea of an entire legion on parade... Narukami

I was at a store with my mom, and I got a catalogue of play mobile, and right on the cover I saw a warship (the main error was one level of oars) with an eagle and a big SPQR on the cover. WHat's and egyptian lady doing in the coloseum, though? I think I want to get the four horse chariot.

If you can't wait any longer they're available on that garage sale of the world - eBay. Just search on "playmobil roman."

Oh Lord. Are ya sure they supposed to be Romans? Looks like they pinched Robin Hoods pants.

The Playmobil Romans are here at last.
Those of you looking for these should start to see them in your areas now. So far only small sets, but with any luck the bigger sets are on their way. Found tonight at the Target store in Burbank: Gladiator & Lion set Gladiator & Chariot set And... Gladiator & "Policeman" set (at least that's how it rang up at the register) The Gladiator looks pretty good, armed with trident & net and wearing a very imaginative helmet. As for the "policeman" he has the look of a Hollywood Roman with red cape, gladius, red oval shield and a helmet with a red crest. Perhaps he is supposed to be a Praetorian Guard. :? The average price is $1.50 per figure -- at that rate putting together an entire legion could prove to be a rather expensive proposition. Perhaps a Century is more in keeping with my rather humble military budget... :? ) wink: Narukami
