Hey everyone,
Trying to buy the book on the American David Brown Books site.
How do I take advantage of the RAT discount?
They're saying $32 US for the paperback without discount.
With the 10% discount that's very reasonable. It's either that or put a request in with acquisitions at the Paley library at Temple.
Which means of course that I will be waiting two years for them to get it.
Thanks,
Travis

Aaargh, I just received the list of possible payment methods, and it says I'll have to add 12 Pounds (sic!) for a bank to bank transfer to Britain!
This is almost half the price (including shipping costs) for the paperback version (24,80 Pounds).
A credit card (VISA, Mastercard or Am.Exp.) would be cheapest, but I don't have one!
Is there anybody in Britain who could pay my bill and send me the book, provided I send him/her the money by snail-mail first?
(Andrew, Paul ?)
Any support would be much appreciated

Hi Florian,
I know that if you wire the money using their IBAN and BIC numbers it should be free. This is only since January 2006 so a lot of people in England don't know this yet and keep charging money for bank fees.
Kind regards,

Quote:Is this the famous, hard to find and when you do, it costs hundreds of dollars, bible of roman weapons that I hear everyone talk about? hock:
This bible is very reasonably priced and has much more current info.
I understand that much in the "famous" one is out of date.
Yes,watch out for those Templars. Especially Simon-he's no Saint.
Just ordered my copy,too.
Thanks everyone for sharing this.
With these flying off the shelf, the authors should soon be
rolling in the Denarii.

"Me neither. Caballo or Sassanid, one of you has my book. Give it back please." No...its mine, mine, I tell you (evil laugh)...
Seriously, just finished it- excellent and indispensable work, very clearly written, and properly indexed and sourced (unlike a French author I could mention....).
Some really interesting discussion points as well- such as whether auxillaries wore lorica segmentata? The archeological evidence suggests that they may have, though definitive proof is missing... this one could run and run....
Cheers
