Hi together or "servus", as we say in Bavaria
I`m Jürgen, better known as Schorsch, from a little village northeast of Regensburg / Castra Regina in Bavaria.
I`m in the living-history hobby for about 15 years now, having started with a viking-style impression, then changed to a 7th-century bajuvarian which is still in progress and now, since about 3 years working on a reconstruction of a 5th-century germanic gravefind from Bavaria which includes many late-roman items such as military belt, sword etc. This guy might have been a former "foederatus" in the western army.
The other reason for my interest in roman (military-)history lays in my profession as a blacksmith. I´m trying do reconstruct several iron artifacts from early iron-age to 15th century including (of course) much roman stuff.
so, for the next days, i will have to read very much here in the forum, i think
