Hey,
I'm looking for a latin name for myself. I think is would be fun to translate my real name in latin + the city I live as cognomen. Just 1 little problem, I don't know latin
"Jo Vansteenkiste van Wervik (Viroviacum)" / "Joe of the stone coffin from Wervik"
Would that be something like
"Ioannis Lapisarcus (Lapis + arca?) Viroviacensis"? Or is that realy bad latin?
("Joe" doesn't have a latin translation I gues, but my patron saint is Johannes/John + "Steenkiste" was a little village in the dark ages, were my ancestors came from, so I presume I shouldn't translate it, but "Steenkistencis" sounds even worse then "Lapisarcus" )
Thanks in advance for the aid!
