Cool. I really liked the first Arnie Conan, but maybe they'll lean more towards the books this time.

I believe it's the funny one inspired by Goscinny and Uderzo.

That helmet would look great in a Conan movie, probably on a Gunderman mercenary.

I'm a big fan of the Conan books and the first movie, though the second one was not so hot... But yeah, more of the book stuff would be great! My friend and I were really disappointed when we first saw the movie and the mummy in the crypt did NOT come to life and chase him around!

What's really scary is how many well-known swordsmiths these days were inspired to get into sword-making because of the movie's opening sequence! Talk about a classic.

Ave Mitra,

Thanks for the news. I wonder if it's good or bad

I assume everyone here knows that a new animated Conan film is due to be released this year. The movie is based on Robert E. Howard's "Red Nails" and its official website is here : [url:7pcr44vc]http://www.conanrednails.com/site/index.html[/url]

I like the all the books too, even Howard's sucessors' just as much. But I don't go for LOTR or Harry Potter - that's "high-fantasy" stuff. I prefer the "low fantasy" genre.

Hmm...I seem to be in the minority when I say I prefer the second movie to the first. The director made so many other films I enjoyed - "The Vikings", "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", "Tora, Tora, Tora !". He also directed "Red Sonja" but I didn't care for it.

The first Conan took itself too seriously, I thought. The second was more light-hearted and fun.

Anyway, I hope to see some new Conan movies before the decade runs out. Arnold should do one where Conan is already an old King, IMO. Big Grin It's going to be tough to replace him.

thats cool news. Im a big fan of Conan comics. I learned to draw from them, or at least the first steps in anatomy. I saw the red nails site. Although its one of the best stories the way they illustrated the characters is too cartoony and loses strenght. I would prefer 1000 times more a movie that would be like their concept art it would have a freshness. Or a movie like Fire and Ice visually with more detail to the figures since now tech allows it.
BTW i absolutely hate Harry Poter
aka Yannis
