Lvcivs Matt is right it is a domed head nail. If you put a piece of flat iron bar down before you hammer the nail in.The bar should turn nail shank up and inbed itelf into the wood on the inside ,the same method is used on scabbard slides.Dont have a pic at hand to show Sad
