LORICA SEGMENTATA
#1
SALVE

At Mike Bishop's BooK, there are two hooks at the top of the girth hoops of the Newstead and Alba Iulia types. There seem like the folding hooks from Corbridge B and C, but inverted...

What are that hooks? What is the function?

Thanks.
We wish we knew! They have caused many sleepless nights. There was a big discussion about them a while back, don't remember what the thread topic was about but we were talking about the Stillfried finds. Lotsa theories, but no one's come up with anything that most everyone else agrees with.
I knicknamed them 'suspenderii' after my balteus fell down around my feet at one of our events.
Legio XX
