Salve,
Does anyone know about the logistics of Roman/Barbarian river crossing? Can one induce from the time needed for crossing the magnitude of troops involved?
In my mind is the battle of Argentorate 357 AD: 30-35000 Alamanni are said to have been crossing for 3 nights and days. I doubt the Alamannic numbers as much too high. But are there any other examples?
Thanks for any help to a newbee
