I've read that they found evidence that the legion left England, so they certainly didn't disappear in England. (great story though)
What's interests me is that the autor claims that archaeologists found an
eagle there. I never heard before that a roman eagle ever was found

Otherwise, I can't answer your question. I don't know about any legions eagle ever found, but that wouldn't say there aren't found any.

I only know of a cohort sign that's been found but never of an eagle.Interesting question though.

Well, a week of research and discussions and it appears that there are no surviving Roman Eagles. Bummer.

I relatively new to the study of Roman history so this probably comes as no to surprise to many here but it was fun to look into it.

Now to see if I can't track down where one might be hiding!
