Legio IX Hispana will be on display at the Bowers Museum on Santa, Ana California - in conjunction with Dr. Michael Jones (American Research Center in Egypt, Cairo) - presenting a lecture on "LUXOR TEMPLE, THE DISCOVERY AND CONSERVATION OF ROMAN ERA WALL PAINTINGS"

We had a chance to show our shield artwork to the guest speaker, lecture series on restoring and preserving Roman wall art in Egypt... seems we're doing AOK!.. Our Parmas were very well reviewed. Had a very informative talk about technique, paint fomulas, and finishes. As a result were ordering rosin made from a particular tree in Egypt to be used as a sealant . It imparts a metallic sheen to red pigments when buffed.

An appreciative audience, loads of great questions. Talked at length with an archaeologist about our replica scutums, Sanguinarius who's fluent in Spanish got to talk to a large family from Mexico visiting the US and a couple from Spain.

A good day.... and we had lawn to stand on and shade to stand under! Nice...!
