For those of you wanting to get your kids/grandkids going on Rome (and of course, not you, as you would never dream of buying these for yourself), it looks like Playmobile has expanded its Roman line to now include the Roman family members, a Gallic chieftan, Gallic warriors, a place to carry Gauls (prison wagon) and a place for Gauls to entertain you (an arena with hungry lion). The latest were just introduced at the NY toy fair. Pretty impressive lineup!

My girls were complaining that the only "girl" character had been Cleo, so the family came in handy when we got them in Germany last year. Funny, I got them the trireme, the arena and all, but they kept on playing dress-up and putting gladiators to bed and all that. Sigh...

Ha! -- You guys in Europe get all the good stuff first! :? cry:
I saw the Gauls on the US site yesterday and thought these would be a good addition to the range, but now these Egyptians take the prize.
Ships
Chariots
Anubis
Who could ask for more?
Guess this calls for another e-mail to PlayMobil USA to ask about when the Pharaohs of old will make it to the new world. :?
Thanks for the update Redwald.

So do I -- my son is 24, though!

Cool, they didn't have the Egyptians yet when we were in Germany of Christmas, must be very new.

I'm quite sure we'll have the lot in a few years; Britons, Partians, Nubians....
