It is a bible of the first half of the 9th Cent. Maybe created near Paris, today France.

Do you know anything about the spatha on the left side of the display case ? I think it may be a 6th century Frankish spatha but I'd like to get a closer look at the hilt.

The spatha looks like it may be the same one seen in this old drawing.

The hilt looks like it's made of two rectangular pieces, a smaller one mounted atop of a larger one, IMO.

The sword was found in a grave in Bräunlingen, as the display "caption" says:

But the handle is incomplete, not as in the picture.

Though the handle is incomplete, I'm convinced of the drawing's accuracy given that everything else shown is 6th century Frankish weapons.
