Ancient fencing event

This is off-topic since it's not about Rome or romans but it's about ancient fencing and probably some people here may be interested.

AGEA invites you to I Torneo AGEA-FESA Torre de Hércules of ancient fencing.
The event will take place on june, 27, 28 & 29 at Riazor stadium, A Coruña, Spain.

Program

There will be lessons of spanish rapier, longsword, sword & buckler and italian side sword. All lesson will be attended by FESA monitors.

1. Introduction to spanish destreza. Ton Puey
   
2. Biomecanics of longsword. Ton Puey
   
3. Uses of longsword in short distance. Pedro Velasco
   
4. Uses of crosswise or zwerchau after Ringek & Danzig. Eugenio Garcia-Salmones
   
5. Basic Concepts in I.33, getting into fight with sword & buckler. Santos Morondo Taramundi

There will be tournaments of Sword & buckler, Rapier, Rapier & dagger, side sword and dagger, longsword and a longsword amateur tournament depending on people availability

Participation in tournaments require adequate protections. Every participant is responsable of its equipment. It is also reserved to fencing club members or people with proved experience in practical ancient fencing. Amateur tournament is open to everybody, no experience required.

Event organization may borrow equipment while available.

Price & Reservation

Overall price for the event is 30 eur, this includes taking lessons, tournaments participation, use of borrowed items and saturday lunch. It does NOT include saturday dinner, sunday lunch & dinner nor accomodation neither transportation.

Saturday & sunday dinners and sunday lunch attendance is up to you and thus not included in overall price (you must pay them apart).

You must confirm your attendance to the event by filling this form and pay the fee by bank transfer to this Banco Pastor account: 0072-0192-93-0000102056 (Banco Pastor is spanish bank). Include your name and surname as transfer subject.

Last day to confirm and pay is thursday, 12th, june, 2008

Once received your payment & confirmation, AGEA we'll send you an email with information about the event.

We have contacted two hostels in the city which are near the event place and good priced. You may reserve there directly or email us to [email protected] and we'll make the reservation for you.

Being off topic, should this move to "Off Topic"? Or is "Events" a good place for it. Hard to decide. Sounds like a great time will be had by all, spectator and competitor, though. Let us know how it comes off, and by all means, link to a big batch of pictures, please!

yes it is a real doubt, it is off topic but it is also an event. I think it will fit better in Events since it is more an event than off-topic
