When my youngest was 4 and in preschool we got a call from his teacher... this is 20 odd years ago...
"Mr Richards?" "Yes." "It's about your son, Conor. He says you're going to go away to the war next weekend and you're going kill people..." "Yes." "... that you're taking him with you and he gets to watch you hack men with an axe.." "Yes." .... insert moment of stunned silence...... Indeed...this does remind me of my days in the SCA...many years ago before Texas was even a principality let alone a kingdom.

Actually...
That was the persona I adopted -- a ronin in search of a new master. It was all very amateurish but in the mid 70's we were all learning our way as it were. Had a lot of fun even if it was all rather ahistorical. :roll: Narukami
