Yeah, isn't that a hoot? Only one of the richest grave finds in England...
Most museums only show about a tenth of what they own. I've heard a story about a collection of crates in the basement of the Met in New York that arrived there over a hundred years ago, and have yet to be opened. They're marked, "Old armor". Geez.... At this point, even the packing material has historic value! There was also a lovely gold cup found in a Bronze Age burial in England before World War I, which ended up being used as a shaving cup by the king! (I think it has since been rescued.)
Well, at least these gold pins got recognized for what they were, eventually!
