How much of a bit more? Altogether, that is, plus the shipping price.

Odd, my post disappeared. I had said earlier that I was looking forward to this book and already pre-ordered it. Amazon had a release date... hopefully it's correct.

Amazon US or UK? I can't preorder the book at Amazon UK. I've been waiting for ages, but there's no option for preorder. I have Arms and Armor preordered, though.

I pre-ordered on the US site. It says July for a released date... so no idea if that's accurate. It was fairly cheap but I'd probably have paid twice that for the content (if what I assume will be in it).

Hi
Quote:How much of a bit more? Altogether, that is, plus the shipping price.
The book will cost £20 if you order direct from me or if you meet me in person at one of the forthcoming exhibitions and events. That price does not include postage and packing which will obviously vary. When I get copies I will get them weighed and see how much the Post Office will charge for sending it to various destinations and what packaging is available for sending them.
Best wishes.
Graham.

Hi John
Yes I hope so, postal service permitting!
There might be some copies available for any of your troops but remember first century Romans only accept coin of the realm, we would not barter for vegtables!

Graham you will have to get used to the early 5th century at Vindolanda, where the army controls the prices of everything and operates a command economy. We control all things secular, and indeed spiritual. Welcome to my world:-)

Quote:there are some copies selling for ridiculous high prices
Yes I see Amazon US are already selling copies at almost $100! hock:
John you can see that inflation is not just a late Roman problem. By the time I get to Vindolanda the price might have gone up!

. Is that a review? :o

We control all things spiritual, malt whisky, gin and brandy.
The book is fuelling inflation. The Emperor Honorius has just informed me through the Dux in York that the price is fixed. I'll send some soldiers around to your tent to do regular price checks.
It seems your book is worth more than Emmanual Adebayor........

Curious... I just now noticed. Amazon UK and US have the book listed with different titles. Is that normal? Why the different name?

Hello T.J.
Looks OK to me.
Are you sure you are not confusing 'Roman Military Dress' the book just released and published by The History Press, with some of my earlier books still available like 'Roman Military Clothing 1-3' published by Osprey.
Or any of my other books due for release soon such as 'Arms and Armour of the Imperial Roman Soldier' written by Raffaele D'Amato which I have just illustrated, the first volume of which is also due for release anytime soon and this is published by Frontline books.
Yes I have been busy recently!
'Roman Army:Wars of the Empire' which I wrote back in 1997 is also still available on Amazon but you have to be quick to get cheap paperback copies.

I guess I did... the book originally posted here in this thread is:
The book I've pre-ordered and am waiting on is:
The second book is not released in the U.S. yet so says Amazon which is what I thought these guys were referring to. The first book is also not yet released in the U.S. on Amazons site.
So looking closer am I to understand that the first book deals in STRICTLY the armor and weapons while the other deals in clothing and such? Just so I also know, you illustrated the first book, but authored the second? Amazon has you listed as the author for both.
I can't even pre-order the first book via Amazon... so I might have to find another way to obtain it. The second though is already ordered and waiting for release.

Graham.
I guess I could buy a used copy for $300.00  I don't get why people jack the prices up SO high. I'll have to look for that one. How much of the information included is still accurate to today? Nothing changed since it was published?
