Roman Navy Ships

Probably not unknown to you all, but I found this while searching for information on Rome's Navy.

Very well preserved ships from the Rhine. They were found back in the 80s, but this article is from early 2007. Very well preserved. But the ships in the picture are reconstructions. I find especially interesting the Roman machine gun mounted on the second one.

The ships shown in the article are the reconstructions of the "Museum für Antike Schifffahrt" (Museum of Ancient Ships) in Mainz. If you check out this thread you will find links to the site of the museum:

We visited this museum during the RAT Conference last year. It is worth a visit I would say.
