My self included. Which is why it didn't take much convincing by Brian to the pros of bell caps.

That may well be correct what you say for where in another post I refer to Carol van Driel Murry mentioning bellcaps on the Vindolanda Chamfron, it is where she is talking about how these caps hold the backing leather to it and that they protect the face of the horse. ( obviously from their nice round smooth finish )
