I just stumbled across this one. Cole Porter is always nice (original) but Iggy Pop (who is an ancient historian!) and Deborah Harry improved it beyond repair. Spike Jonze was the director.

Have you heard? It's in the stars
Next July we collide with Mars.

Heh heh - funny stuff.

If we're going on videos rather than songs in particular:

Amon Duul 2: Archangel Thunderbird - [url:32gnrm1w]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pcla5zyZfA (not an original video!)

Featuring the (in)famous 'Babylon flashback' sequence from Cecil B DeMille's 1919 'Male and Female': Gloria Swanson doing all her own stunts with some very large and real lions. The days before CGI... Confusedhock:

Laibach: Life is Life - [url:32gnrm1w]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbB1s7TZUQk (warning: contains Heavy Irony)

Not sure if I could listen to this all day, exactly, but it cracks me up. I recently spent some time in Slovenia, and people there really do look like this...

Beastie Boys: Sabotage - [url:32gnrm1w]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4PN7Xbexq4 (after the brief 'interview' at the beginning)

Far more realistic than The Wire...

No, this is not a favorite music video, but it's just the music that makes me completely happy, expels all clouds from my head, and to which I can not remain sitting quietly: Diana Ross, The Happening.

Yesterday, in my favorite pub, this song was on the radio and I noticed that the barmaid (that's her) started to move rhytmically and that all people on the terrace were visibly in a better mood. It’s impossible not to start smiling on hearing those old Motown songs.

Waaaah. I just found that there is a new version of one of my most favourite songs by Rammstein, Seemann:
Quote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1j2m0BbLpWc
by Apocalyptica and Nina Hagen:
[url:2hct2r2w]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-h67MBJry4&feature=fvw
The song is about the myth among German seamen, that everytime a fire (cigarette etc.) is lit from a candle, a seaman dies on the sea.

While we are nautic, an other great song by Rammstein, Reise, Reise! (Rise, rise!), in the Roman Amphitheatre in Nimes:

And my currently favourite Rammstein song "Ohne Dich":

That's a lot of German music, Christian!

I retaliate with this parody. (And for those who don't recognize the Überstar who is parodied, go here - the man you love to hate.)

I had no idea Till Lindemann could sing like that.

If that's your cup of tea, you might like this one(warning: vulgar lyrics).

And here's something more cheerful.
