Testing a Ballista with watermelons. Not so gory

As some people is also posting his gory stuff, I wouldn´t let you without them :mrgreen:

At least, I´ve got the photos of a TV documentary filming in wich the Cohors Prima Gallica took part during Spring. We had to show that it wasn´t just a toy, and its lethality. We haven´t seen the videos, yet, but they will worth the effort.

I´ve got them in Hi-res (+4Mb each) if you want for something educative or so. :roll:

First, Aitor´s big toy (AKA Necator):



First shoot, the bolt goes thru the first, but hits the wood and bounces back:







Second shoot, got stuck into the second watermelon wooden base, Aitor explains something to the camera:




Third shoot, goes through the first watermelon, but it deflects to the left, so flews harmlessly few inches from the other two:



Fourth shoot, at least, we hit two-in-a-row:

Great pictures! I really love the red splash! We do something similar with a Falx. Here we cover a water melon with plaster of paris si it looks like a skull. Then we cleave it with a falx and the red bits go every where :twisted: The public are shocked!!!
