Last week, Conduit devs High Voltage Software promised that a new IP would be revealed at E3. Well, the convention is still a week away, but High Voltage has unveiled Gladiator AD anyway, a Wii-exclusive fighter that aims to "redefine the fighting game genre on the Wii."
"The game features an unmatched graphic fidelity, enthralling musical score, and strategic combat. This, coupled with the familiar setting and intuitive controls, is what sets it apart from anything ever released," design director David Pellas told IGN.
"This game is brutally violent, but is not Mortal Kombat. There is no over-the-top spine ripping. It's authentic, not ridiculous. We do have finishers, which can get pretty nasty to watch, though."
Mortal Kombat it might not be, but it will still include "humiliation, execution and brutality moves." High Voltage called the combat itself a cross between Bushido Blade and Fight Night.
"There is no button-mashing here," Pellas explained. There will be environmental hazards like lions though.
Wii MotionPlus will be supported, but there's no word yet on online multiplayer. Look for Gladiator AD in the first quarter of 2010.
