Hanks and Spielberg filming Guadalcanal

Just checked on YouTube and there's a trailer for "The Pacific," Hanks and Spielberg's take on Guadalcanal. Looks like the production values are equal to "Band of Brothers." Have to wait until next March, though. It's a multi-parter for HBO. Can't wait, but gotta.

That is a one I shall have to look out for as it's a long time ago that I went to that Island on a South Pacific tour when I was in the Royal Air Force. Infact our Hercules flew down to Guadalcanal from Tarrawa and it was an experience also to have gone there.
Indeed all of the Guns that the Japs took from Singapore are still there plus much more, and it was a good thing to see that all the many graves there are so well tended by the locals. Good heavens it's now exactly 40 years since I did that trip.
