The New Comitatus Website
#1
Salvete Omnes!

This is my first post to the forum. (And I hope this topic is in the right place.)

I was asked by fellow members of Comitatus to let you know about the new website which we have just launched!
You will find that some new research articles and and event photos have been added, and more will be arriving in the coming weeks.

Same address as before:

A big improvement-must have been a lot of work. Here is an alternative link to the index http://www.comitatus.net/index.html

Looks good.
Who are the Greek Orthodox priests in the one photo? I am guessing they are Greek anyway....
Where was it>?

Hi Amy,

The correct spot, don't worry.

The new site looks great. An improvement over the last one, which was already good, I think. I'm greatful that I can still download the pictures for my own archives, a lot of new websites won't let you do that. Which is a real shame, because it's not possible to use such sites for reference purposes.

The only point of improvement so far would be the research page, where a lot of the links to the articles don't work (yet).
Hmm, maybe a second.. my last name (Vermaat) is still misspelled on your links page...

More Comitatus:

Can anyone tell Paul to move his great website? Geocities will be shutting down in just a few months....

And last but not least: congrats to Ste and his wife on their 15th anniversary!!!!

That's from York 2006 - a parade by York Minster and others celebrating Constantine being made emperor. All sorts of clergy were out for that. The man in purple is non other than Archbishop of York, John Sentamu.

Other pix from that day including Comitatus soldiers:

Thank you Amy for a great job. I certainly appreciate all the time and hard work you've put in. The old site was hard to update and develop. But Amy's work means we can easily update the site and develop it in the future. Indeed since Amy first posted the site has developed. New headings and articles have been put on, but I can't vouch for the spellings of names.

This certainly isn't the first site Amy has designed. She works in this field and we are very lucky.

The pages are being updated constantly. Not least with information on the long awaited DVD, "The End of Roman Britain, Reconstructing the late Roman army". See <!-- l <a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.romanarmytalk.com/rat/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=27941">viewtopic.php?f=16&t=27941<!-- l

An ideal Christmas present. Go to http://www.comitatus.net/comitatusdvd.html for further information.

The events list for 2010 has been up there for a few weeks as well.
