roman legionaries with segmentata in the spartacus rebellion? greek-corintian elmets?
no way.....
He didn't call 300 horrible- he said this other movie was a horrible, 300-like inaccurate- the new movie is horrible as well as inaccurate like 300... And of course 300 wasn't intended to be accurate- it was a comic book, so the art was the primary thing.
Actually I am looking forward to this rendition of Spartacus.
The Segis are of course out of period but so is the rest of the style as was already said.
As a gladiator I am however very happy to see the first movie that shows galdiators with actual gladiatorial helmets, greaves and shields.
Of course the helmets are again the imperial types with closed faced visors, and not the republican open face helmets that would have been worn in Spartacus times, and why they gave an axe to a secutor is also puzzeling...
The strangest thing about this TV series (13 episodes are planed) is that they actually recycled the gear from 300
Maybe sombody though Spartacus = Spartan = 300?
