Is Arlon in Belgium or Luxembourg or both? I thought I went to this museum, but maybe I went to a different one, or was confused about what country I was in at the time. I have several photos that I plan to put on my facebook account in the future.

Exactly.

Before 1839, the present Belgian province of Luxembourg and the present state of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg were only one territory : the Duchy of Luxembourg. But the Treaty of the XXIV articles of London (1839) separated definitively the two territories. The french-speaking part of the Luxembourg were incorporated in Belgium and became the province of Luxembourg, and the german-speaking part became the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Arlon became the maintown of the belgian province of Luxembourg and Luxembourg became the capital of the Grand Duchy.
