yeah, I would like to have a 'kit room' on ground floor. Unfortuntally I've to take all upstairs to the 2nd floor after every show.

I've got stuff all over the house, but anything the police would give me a really really hard time for if it got stolen by scumbag burglars (swords, pugiones) is locked up in a strongbox similar to this, but wider:
Too heavy for an opportunist thief to throw over his shoulder (especially if full, in which case two men would have trouble), and I'd defy anyone without a cutting torch to get it open.
Decorate it and put a padded seat on top, and it'll easily double up as a window seat.

I'm going a bit OT but I love that old saying you have there, it reminds me of my dear old mother God bless her who used to say "if ifs and ans where pots and pans there would be no trade for Tinkers"

Smaller stuff in wooden boxes and baskets that are used in camp. Helmets on shelves. Pila, Hasta and shields stacked in the corner. All in the garage now but when the roof is finished all will be moved to the guard room of the tower in back.
