Roman Ice Skates
#1
Britain is in the grip of snow and ice at present. I’m happily eating and drinking too much, but not riding. So today I tied on some horse cannon bone ice skates and took to the ice. Such bone ice skates were used up to relatively recently. Using two javelins to pole myself along I went hardly anywhere at no speed at all. Re-shaping the bone helped a little and at least I didn’t fall over.
