I have seen some pictures of an original tegimen where two of the decorative capricorns have been reconstructed for a museum. The same is apparent in Van Driel's article where the line drawings of the capricorns mirrors the museum reconsturction mentioned above.
My question is, what is that straight piece (shaft) coming out of the back of the capricorn that ends in a ball like shape?
Any suggestions or better depictions.
