Sure are a lot of them, though. Wish we could gather such a large group in one place.

I like the Rupert Bear trousers...
Moi Watson

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

Why are they all wearing little white ankle socks?
They look like the unusually hairy chorus line from a 1950s musical!

Cause they're Italian re-enactors of the 'gruppo storica romana' or likewise organisations with a holywoodish view on ancient Rome...

Of course there is contemporary information on Roman soldiers wearing socks, propbably goat hair or wool, but whether or not they were white is not certain.

LOTS of Bracers in evidence also. And everyone wearing the Hollywood style red cape (cloak). On a more serious note it shows the impracticability of officers carrying tiny Parmas in the front lines. Not much protection and makes you stand out as a missile target.

Ad Titus Martius... though the effort of some groups is commendable, the use of the Trooper helmet is not.

This helmet should be officially forbidden.

That smilie I posted above expresses my "I am not sure I like what I see in that video" face.

I was very dissapointed with historical accuracy of some Italian groups when I saw them in Natale di Roma this year...
