Noooo! Hittites.info is gone :(
#1
Like the Hittites themselves, Hittites.info is no more. This was one of my favorite websites, and one of the best history websites of any kind on the internet, with lots of primary and secondary sources.

You can see the homepage on the Internet Archive (web.archive.org), but none of the other pages were archived. What a shame.

Does anyone know of any other way to retrieve pages from an old website that's no longer being hosted or maintained?

It's a common adage that "once something's on the internet, it stays there forever," but apparently this is not true for Hittite history.

Haven't heard that one... my own adage is "it won't be there forever." If I see a page on the Internet that strikes me just so, and it's at all feasible, I download it and back it up.

I have, I think, the entirety of Kibo.com on my hard drive.

It's a common refrain for parents of college kids who post photos of themselves in the nude or getting hammered at frat parties.
