There is one picture from LRE I (perhaps even from Jasper!), with a wrong caption (the Berkasovo I is not an 'East Roman parade helmet'). There will always be people who flaunt the work of others as their own. Shame on them.

if you use the searchfield... put in : Faris reenactment basar

The Owner really argues, that for him the european law doesn´t apply, Confusedhock: it seems only a lame excuse for bad behaviour

I think integrity commands more respect before other Peoples property but it seems he hasn´t something like this

Hello all.
This is Gracjana & Greg (Thorkil).
We have found on this facebook profile some photos which for sure aren't products of this guy's company.
He has been writing to us few times - he wanted to order a replica of very difficult helmet (gilded). when he received a price he started to be insulting. After few months he repeated his questions one more time, the same way. Hi's the most cheaky person we have ever been in contact with.
This month he sent us this messege. I think it really speaks about him, that after being such an arrogant he have sent something like this. We are even wondering if maybe there is something wrong with his head. Please remember, we don't know him, so this email is really ridiculous:
"Hope you get this on time, sorry I didn't inform you about my trip in Spain for a Program, I'm presently in Madrid and am having some difficulties here because i misplaced my wallet on my way to the hotel where my money and other valuable things were kept. presently i have limited access to internet,I will like you to assist me with a loan of 2,500 Euros to sort-out my hotel bills and to get myself back home.

i have spoken to the embassy here but they are not responding to the matter effectively,I will appreciate whatever you can afford to assist me with,I'll Refund the money back to you as soon as i return, let me know if you can be of any help.I don't have a phone where i can be reached.

Please let me know immediately."

Well, typical spamming and cheating.

Are we talking about the Faris Reenactment Basar? There are indeed a few weird comments on his pages.. Such as, that Osprey books are the nr.1 in historical research.

That page is perhaps removed, in any case it's unavailable.

He and his Partners are really arrant... he took Photos from Reenactors without accordance to sell copys of complete equipment...

He has a lot of fans though, some people I know...

EDIT: read his review page, it's full of complaining people who he cheated by stealing their pictures!!:-x :!:
A MUST_READ, he's ducking and diving to get out from under the rightful claims of the accusers: now it's his agents'fault, now he's late for evening prayer, now it's hos old age which makes him forgetful, now his rights as a Muslim were violated, now the pictures are for educational use only, blablabla... Hi Nina,

No, the page with the helmets, which seems to be gone now.

Mind you, he did not breach copyright, which should be established first, but he infringed on the right of the owners of the pictures, which I believe is a bit different. Nevertheless, he's in Indonesia, so any claims should be made there, which might be quite difficult. So far he seems to be agreeing to complaints, I think that most of the stolen pictures were removed as soon as the owners lodged a complaint. He did not (yet?) remove the complaints on the 'review' page (or maybe he does not know he can). ;-)

Nina, exactly, he wanted 2,500 euro from us.
Robert, so you see what kind of guy he is - extremely cheeky. All of his explainings are so typical for him - we know it from his emails.

Hahaha just another moron wanting to make a buck out of re-enactment...

Wondering if he can make me a nice Japanese officers uniform or a white colonial Dutch one from the era we ruled Indonesia....

It's not just little entrepreneurs who have done this. Virgin got sued for taking a picture from a 16 year-old girl's Flikr account and using it in an ad campaign.

Though this guy's methods seem a little weird, don't accuse him of the loan affair too easily. That's a fairly well known spam/scam message that was probably not sent by him.
Greets!
