goatskin water carrier

Is there any theory about one man carrying water for his contubernium in a goatskin water carrier on his furca? Much tribes and bedoein people still use this type of carrying water. Even the Egyptians speak about sakkas. Btw is that a roman word for carrying bag?

Yes there is. The theory also goes for reinforced leather waterskins. Caesar Pocina Lopez just recently put a reconstruction he did on facebook and RAT.
