Artwork on front and back of 4th century Shield
#1
Ave all.....if my impression of a 4th century Roman legionary is:
1. Stationed in Britain
2. Is a Christian
What sort of artwork would be appropriate on the front and back of the shield.
Thanks in advance, Antoninus

Pick one of the relevant shield designs from the Notitia. Not the Secunda Britannica/Iuniores though, we've got that one. Cool

Or paint a nice big Chi-Rho on the front.
