Passion Play in Leicester

Here is a report on the 'Christ in the Centre' passion play in Leicester on Good Friday. The event is now in its ninth year and is probably now the largest such event outside Italy. The reporter displays her Hindu bias somewhat but it is a good report nonetheless.

I knw this is an old thread, but Crispus if you do this next year let me know as i'm an Auxiliary living in Leicester.

Next year's play is already in the planning and fundraising stages. I was on the telephone with the assistant director the other day and she tells me there is due to be a casting session on 29th October beginning at 10am at St Andrew's church, Leicester.

I am always keen to have as many re-enactors and ex-military types as possible to portray Roman soldiers and I would certainly welcome your involvement. :grin:
I think it will be taken for granted that I will be portraying the centurio for the fourth year running but I will try to be there in order to join with the spirit of the occasion, see a few familiar faces and hopefully have some influence over who gets chosen to portray soldiers.

Hopefully it should now also be an opportunity to get to know a fellow RAT member as well. :wink:
