I wonder if it was choosed by Mr. Cascarino himself. His three volumes' "L'esercito romano" (The Roman Army) too, has helmets on the covers. And the right one for every period. mile:

IMO, Mr. Cascarino himself chose the helmets, his tastes about Roman helmets are perfect, expecially the one on the cover of the Third Book.

Anyway there is also a Fourth book by the Author, it's titled CASTRA, and it's about camps and fortifications.

I like the graphic with the background from Roman reliefs almost in transparency and the small boxes with the title in Lapidary Roman and the small magnificent pics of the helmets.
