The Peutinger Table, which is originally thought to date from the 3rd C AD, has been put online to tie in with the release of a new textbook, Rome's World, by Richard Talbert. For thosewho can't afford the $90/£50 pricetag, check it out here. It's amazing!

Wonderful link- thanks. In the appendices , there is a map by Miller which seems to show the part of the map that I thought was lost, covering Britannia. Is this a copy of the lost section, or an imaginative reconstruction? It would be a great thing ton reproduce for a British audience to show how the Romans viewed maps.

Unfortunately, it is only an imaginative reconstruction based on written sources. Most part of Hispania has vanished too, alas! :-(

It\'s all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever.
