Salve! Got this request from BBC Radio 4 and am afraid I don't know any current/former military person familiar with Roman battle sites in the UK. I think they're really keen on Watling St. Anyone have any suggestions?
Dear Mr Campbell,
I am wondering if you can help me. I am working on a BBC Radio 4 programme called Punt PI. I am trying to find an unsolved mystery which the presenter Steve Punt can investigate for his programme. One idea is to locate the site where the Battle of Watling Street happened and I wondered if you know of any experts who have or who are serving in the military in the UK and know a lot about Roman history / battles?
Thank you ever so much for your time.
Best wishes
Emma Betteridge

One can only hope they're not going to go for Mancetter again - although, as you say Richard, calling it the Battle of Watling Street already rules out some of the more interesting contenders!

Thanks for the link - will try to listen.
I sincerely hope that the rumour about a medium is not true...

Good grief. That sounds awful! :-o
Although I will eat my words with ketchup if the 'medium' hits on Dunstable as a site...

Rumour, and the BBC schedule, now suggest the show won't be on anticipated, but postponed until a later date;

Could this be due to a "significant find" near Dunstable?
