high-standing roman military time line in CH
#1
The Legionärspfad (www.legionaerspfad.ch) in Switzerland plans a qualitatively high-standing roman military time line in 2012. I now help them to organise this event.

So I look for the best three European groups of each of the following Roman time epochs:
- 200 BC (Punic War)
- 50 BC
- (0)(augustan)
- 30 AD
- 75 AD
- 150 AD
- 250 AD
- 350 AD
- 400 / 450 AD

Which are those in each case three best groups in Europe from your view?

Additional I should know:
- The number of members of each group (roman soldiers)
- website address
- contact person (Name, address, email)

It would be great, if this ambitious project could be realized. Thank you for your assistance!

With best greetings

Patrik,

Sounds like a fantastic offer.

I'm sure we could raise a joint contingent of marchers from the UK groups, if you'll have us.

Asking everyone which groups are 'best' may be slightly controversial (!)

What distance are you considering?

To state more precisely:

We won’t make a march!

The goal is to show a "time route". It means that we like to show different legionary groups from different times (please see the listed times). The event will be at Windisch – the old legionary camp Vindonissa.
There even is possibility to spend the night in the reconstructed contubernia!
Here is a film where you can see these contubernia:

And some pictures: http://www.lebendige-geschichte.ch/viewt...3%A4rspfad

Of course every group will get paid for their coming.

Of course the statements will be a bit of controversial. But every comment will help me to find the best solution.

In the US many of these type events are known as "time line" rather than time route.
Sometimes they include other cultures and periods and are known as "Military or Historical time lines"
