I have been a long time admirer of this gentlemens work and thought that he hit another great nail on the head regarding Roman audio entertainment/education. This is a 4 hour piece on the fall of the Roman empire and the history of the western empire/ the comparisons of what It would be like to live in the roman world during this time - and a continual comparison against the final moment of planet of the Apes


If you have the time I cannot recommend this enough.

I *love* Dan Carlin's work - his Death Throes of the Republic series was masterful!

The slavery episode had a fair amount of Roman-era material in it as well, if I recall - and I think Steppe Stories touches on some Herodotus here and there.

Dang... now I have to go re-listen to the Punic War series, thanks for the reminder.

My absolute pleasure! the 6 hour final of the fall of the roman republic blew my mind. This man has a gift and a talent, glad to see I'm not the only one who knows about him!
