...going to get rude comments from the Greek re-enactors for leaving them out  (and all the allies and enemies too!)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, Merlot in one hand, Cigar in the other; body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!

Some are arrogant beyong belief, rude, threatening, and condescending.
And hypocrits of the first degree.
I've met plenty who don't meet this unfortunate category though.

Some are just working people who love the history, and want to meet a different circle of people. Not all of us are born wit ha silver spoon in our mouths.
Double standards are rife...what a pity.

All of the above, but also ...

.... sometimes anything but well off and regretfully put up with kit which they know falls below standard while they learn the skills to make what they need themselves at a fraction of the cost they would otherwise need to pay, whilst at the same time trying to advise their friends on the correct standards, which they themselves hope soon to attain. I would not like to think of such people as hypocrits per se.
